Finally found a moment to share these stunning photos from my training with Cape Fear REALTORS. It’s such a blessing to do what I love. • • • #dei #diversityequityinclusion #mentalhealthisdei #lgbtq #smallbusiness #pride

Words can't fully capture the gratitude and reverence I feel for the queer and trans ancestors and elders who bravely lived their truth and paved the way for me and so many in the LGBTQ+ community. Thanks to them, we celebrate all of June, and as Pride Month comes to a close, I want to emphasize that pride is 365 days a year. Now more than ever, I'm reminded that pride is a protest and that there's still so much work to be done. We keep each other safe. We sustain each other. Check on your loved ones and tell them how much they mean to you. Most importantly, love yourself and stand in the sun. • • • #dei #diversityequityinclusion #mentalhealthisdei #lgbtq #smallbusiness #pride

Nex Benedict, a 16-year-old child who identified as non-binary, tragically lost their life after reportedly being beaten by classmates in the bathroom at school in Oklahoma. Through my work with Rainbow Collective For Change (RCC), we joined forces with local GSA students to hold a vigil yesterday at Durham Central Park in Durham, North Carolina. The turnout exceeded our expectations, with over 200 community members braving the cold to show their support. It was both beautiful and devastating to hear LGBTQ+ youth express their feelings about Nex's passing and how it motivates them to fight against anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. Our children can't wait. At the very least, they deserve to inhabit a world where they can use the restroom that corresponds with their identity. Often, fear stems from a lack of understanding. I urge people to embrace compassion and curiosity and educate themselves rather than letting fear dictate their actions. Nex should still be with us today. I am deeply thankful to be part of RCC, advocating for youth in the Triangle area and beyond in North Carolina. I implore everyone, regardless of location, to play their part. Allyship is more than a label or "badge of honor"; it demands action, and we can achieve so much more together. Photo credit: Jess Cruger #nexbenedict #translivesmatter

Give this beautifully written article a read; it tells such an important story of self-discovery.
I was honored to be featured in Kaliq Alexander’s photoshoot and news interview discussing his advocacy work and his journey to self. The piece is titled "Changing the narrative and fostering safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth," and it's truly beautiful. I’m so proud to know him.
