Exciting news from B2S Life Sciences!! We are thrilled to announce that we have two incredible new members joining the B2S team! Joe Flynn is our new Head of Business Development. Joe brings over 30 years of experience in supporting pharmaceutical research and development. Throughout his career, Joe has held key roles in analytical chemistry, business development, and executive management with companies like Eurofins, PPD, and Covance. His background spans bioanalytical and CMC analytical chemistry, with increasing responsibilities as a group leader, department head, and executive overseeing global sales, marketing, and client services. Hisanori Hara is joining as our Immunogenicity Advisor and EU, Asia Business Development. Hisanori holds an MSc in Biochemistry from Osaka University. He brings a wealth of laboratory expertise, including GLP/GCP bioanalysis, LC-MS/MS, LBA, protein sequencing, and glycan structure determinations. His previous role as an outsourcing manager allowed him to collaborate with CROs across the US, EU, and China on PK/PD and immunogenicity studies of biologics. Welcome to the team and Joe and Hisanori! 

Ron Bowsher, PhD FAAPS and Derrick Johnson, PhD were pleased to join a number of BioPharma industry colleagues recently at the US Pharmacopeia (USP) in Rockville, MD for a roundtable discussion on the characterization of biomarker reference standards. We enjoyed seeing numerous friends and participating in the lively discussion. We wish to thank John Kokai-Kun, PhD for organizing the event and Wes Workman, PhD for serving as the meeting moderator. The B2S Life Sciences team looks forward to participating in the on-going biomarker characterization project.

On Wednesday May 1st, the B2S team hosted our 6th and final session of Franklin College’s BIO/CHE 392 biotechnology class. This week’s session involved an in-depth review and discussion about the purification and characterization of the various chicken IgY preparations of anti-human IgG. We estimated the students achieved an average 1,000-fold purification of antibody following affinity chromatography. We enjoyed our time with the students, hope they gained a greater understanding for purification and characterization of proteins and wish them success in their life science research career pursuits. Finally, we want to express our appreciation to the B2S team members who dedicated time and effort to make our class a valuable experience for the FC students.
