    Calling all friendly faces! The Bannock County Veteran Services Office is coordinating a group to welcome Stephanie McKay Johnson, the daughter of Pocatello’s Medal of Honor Recipient, Sgt. James E. Johnson. Folks are invited to welcome her as she arrives at the Pocatello Regional Airport on Friday, November 1st. People are asked to arrive around 4:30 p.m. Stephanie will be in town for the reading of the James E. Johnson proclamation and the formal unveiling of the Medal of Honor on Saturday, November 2nd, at the Bannock County Veterans Memorial building on 300 N Johnson Avenue in Pocatello at 5:30 p.m.

    PRESS RELEASE: Veteran resource fair to be held October 17th for veterans looking for employment, education, and entrepreneurship BANNOCK COUNTY, Idaho - The Bannock County Veteran Services Office is hosting a resource fair for veterans who are looking to plan their next career move. The resource fair, titled The 3 E’s of Readjustment: Education, Employment, & Entrepreneurship, will provide veterans with resources to help them write resumes, apply for federal jobs, find options to further their education, and start businesses. Veterans and their family members are invited to attend. The resource fair will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room of Chubbuck City Hall, 290 E. Linden Avenue. Representatives from the East Idaho Vet Center, Idaho Division of Veterans Services, Idaho Department of Labor, VR&E, TRIO, Veteran Student Services Center at ISU, Vocational Rehab State of Idaho, Small Business Development Center, Veterans Entrepreneurship Alliance (VEA), and veteran entrepreneurs will be in attendance. The representatives will provide focus sessions and presentations throughout the event. 3 – 4 p.m. Readjustment: Therapeutic Treatment and Understanding VA Benefits during Transitional Periods of Life 4 – 5 p.m. Education: Vocational Rehabilitation of Idaho, TRIO Programs, and Idaho State University Veteran Student Services Center 5 – 6 p.m. Employment: Emphasis on Disabled Veterans and the challenges and services available that are impairments to employment 6 – 7 p.m. Entrepreneurship: The Small Business Development Center will be available to discuss available resources and schedule one-on-one appointments to help you develop a winning business plan.
