Driving community and industry forward, together.

About us

Bartlett & West was built with one goal in mind, to make our communities better, safer and more resilient—one well-conceived project at a time. And that commitment to community begins with our own employee-owners. That’s why we work very hard to provide the meaningful, rewarding employee experience that other companies talk about but almost never achieve. Just ask our employee-owners. They will tell you that when it comes to our culture, we deliver exactly what we promise—a close-knit, trusting work environment where you will make lifelong friends, live a balanced life and build a deeply satisfying career. As we say, “We before me.” And because each employee is also an owner, we are motivated to do meaningful work while improving our communities and ourselves. At Bartlett & West, we deliver opportunity with uncommon flexibility.

Three cheers for Bartlett & West's Dallas office for being selected as a Best Place to Work among mid-size companies by the Dallas Business Journal! Employee-owners Naser Abusaad, Micaela Johnson, Noor Jebbeh and Albara Qaddoura picked up the award during a luncheon Oct. 29. Winners were selected based on answers given by employees through an anonymous survey. We couldn't be more proud of the culture and work environment we've created in our 100% employee-owned company. #dbjevent Dallas Business Journal

Our Jefferson City office presented a check from their Charitable Giving Committee on Thursday morning to Thorpe Gordon Elementary School STEM Academy. They have an incredible school – a public school elementary building that has been converted to an all-STEM academy that meets the educational requirements of a normal public elementary school, but all classrooms and teachers in the school are conducting the teaching through a STEM/STEAM lens. The table of pumpkins is a long term experiment to monitor the decomposition of the pumpkins over the school year. The pumpkins were all handled differently when they were placed in their containers, some by hand, some were cleaned with Clorox wipes when placed, some were placed just after the child cleaned their hands, etc. to see the differences and document them. The classroom photo was with the teacher and their long term “pet” in classroom, named Cinnamon…a bull python. It is a cool environment to encourage young minds to explore STEM in a fun way and get excited about a future in jobs like the engineering industry! The Jeff City office is now considering other ways to connect more with them for future collaboration. This school is literally withing walking distance of our Jefferson City office and until last week, they did not realize what a gem this school is!

Howard Hoffman is Bartlett & West's representative on site in Mandaree, North Dakota, as crews build a second water tower in town. The community is growing and so is the need for accessible, safe water. Howard grew up in Fort Berthold and he's proud to be empowered to ensure excellent work is done on a project that will be one of the first things people see when they drive into town.

Our Bismarck office sorted and bagged food for kids in our community today. They packed 1,588 bags in just over 52 minutes on our lunch break. Serving others is a core value of Bartlett & West, and the Backpacks for Kids program is one way we do that in a very direct way. The unfortunate truth is that many kids go home from school on Friday and may not eat again until they come back to school on Monday morning. Bartlett & West is proud to support Missouri Slope Areawide United Way to make sure 1,588 kids have something to eat this weekend. @MSAUnitedWay

In 1989, millions of fans of the movie trilogy Back to the Future watched the first signs of time travel through the windshield of the infamous DeLorean in Back to the Future 2. For nearly 26 years, fans of the movie franchise would wait for the exact date of October 21, 2015 to celebrate the only time Doc (Christopher Lloyd), Marty (Michael J. Fox) and Jennifer (Elisabeth Shue) would travel into the future. Today, we share the enthusiasm of pop culture by celebrating National Back to the Future Day, even though it's technically not the future anymore. It's even more fitting since we held our Back to the Future Trivia Night for our Jefferson City office last Thursday. We will be sharing more on our winning teams soon!

The work of bringing water to rural areas plays a major role at Bartlett & West. Our team is talking with two people who have been part of our story of leading communities to a better tomorrow. One is a former client, and one is a former employee-owner. Mary Massad was manager and CEO of the Southwest Water Authority in North Dakota, and Bruce McCollom led Bartlett & West's rural water efforts across North Dakota and South Dakota.
