  • This year, 65 clinicians with Upstream Rehabilitation successfully achieved board certification in their chosen ABPTS Board Specialty of Orthopedics, Sports, Neurologic, Women’s Health or HTCC Certification in Hand Therapy. Achieving this tremendous accomplishment has required immense dedication to clinical excellence and a commitment to learning and growth. ⁣ ⁣ In addition, we have had another 10 clinicians receive recertification of their board specialty, demonstrating continued pursuit and thirst for learning to maintain expertise at the top of their chosen specialty.⁣ ⁣ ABPTS Board Certification is the premier pathway recognized by American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), which means that physical therapists can elevate their practice, be recognized for their commitment to the profession in advancing their skills, and help lead the profession in the continuous improvement of patient care. The eligibility to sit for this certification requires thousands of hours of clinical practice and additional requirements within each specialty area.⁣ ⁣ Interested in a residency program with Upstream Rehab Institute? Now is the time to reach out to lawmakers to reverse the cuts. "The final rule, issued last week, includes a cut of at least -3.4 percent to therapy providers in CY2024, and the highly technical formula CMS uses to determine reimbursement suggests the cuts could be even higher – as high as over 4 percent – in certain geographic locations. With physical therapists facing years of successive Medicare cuts, the cumulative effect is destabilizing to the sector and increases pressure on providers who are already dealing with record high inflation, rising costs, and workforce challenges. Without Congressional help to block the cuts from coming into effect, the likelihood of practice closures and restricted access for Medicare beneficiaries will increase."
