This weekend was a pelvic health whirlwind in Dallas, TX! Friday was an in-person Pelvic Health Development Program meeting where my mentees refined their manual skills and clinical reasoning. I spent Saturday and Sunday co-teaching an Institute of Advanced Musculoskeletal Treatments (IAMT) pelvic health course (PH-ART) for my mentees and other clinicians across the country. I am forever grateful to Upstream Rehabilitation, Upstream Rehab Institute, and the local leadership teams in Texas for trusting me with mentoring this bright group of pelvic health clinicians!

This is Casey...and he is one of the many reasons we do what we do! Casey was in a car accident in December of 2022 which was followed by multiple reconstructive surgeries that left him bed bound and using a wheelchair for 3 months. He began outpatient therapy at Elite Physical Therapy Mississippi in 2023... within weeks he began walking with assistance and within months he was walking independently. Casey spent 12 months in outpatient therapy with us and has since returned to work, the gym and spending time in the outdoors, hunting. Casey told us, "I have now fully returned to all activities including participating in my kid’s athletics and hunting/fishing with my family and friends. I’m a huge Matt Thomas and Elite Physical Therapy fan." Casey, we are a HUGE fan of you - keep up the amazing work, we are so proud of you.

Congratulations to Ashlie Crewe, Dillon Estes and Jessica Kroboth, co-authors in the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy. The purpose of this study was to explore the prevalence of PFD among college-aged athletes, assess how PFD impacted athletic performance, and identify contributing factors for increased likelihood of PFD in athletes.

This past weekend I had the privilege of serving alongside a dedicated team of elected delegates of the Tennessee state chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) at our National House of Delegates Meeting in Kansas City, MO. The House of Delegates was represented by 51 chapters, 18 sections & academies, and the PTA council. Our dedicated House was able to adopt important motions into our existing standards of practice as a profession. A few of those were on: ✅ Physical Therapists as Primary Care and Entry-Point Provider ✅ Ethical and Effective Integration of Artificial Intelligence across Physical Therapist Practice ✅ Fitness and Health Risk Assessments to Advance Employer Safety and Health Promotion Program ✅ Equitable and Inclusive Process of Licensure by Endorsement for an Internationally Educated Physical Therapist ✅ Family Friendly Organizational Policies in Physical Therapy I enjoyed meeting, sharing, and collaborating with other elected delegates from the likes of GA, TX, NM, OH, and KY to share ideas and concepts of the physical therapy profession as a whole. If you're a passionate PT/PTA clinician interested in enhancing our value as a profession, I recommend you be a member of your APTA local state chapter and collaborate with other motivated PTs/PTAs with challenging ideas to elevate our profession for the future. This is a group I highly recommend participating in for CHANGE! ➡
