Berkley Mid-Atlantic Insurance Group would like to recognize Eloise Minor (Ella) for 30 years of incredible service and dedication! Ella joined Berkley on August 15, 1994, working as a Personal Lines Underwriter for the newly formed Chesapeake Insurance in Richmond, VA. In 1999, Chesapeake Insurance, along with several others, were merged into one; to form Berkley Mid-Atlantic. Berkley Mid-Atlantic eventually discontinued Personal Lines, so Ella transferred into the Small Commercial Lines team as an Underwriter. Over time, she moved on to a Middle Market Commercial Lines Underwriter role and in the Spring of 2017, Ella was transferred into Operations as the Underwriting Technician Supervisor. In 2023, Ella was promoted to Underwriting Operations Manager and began managing both the underwriting technicians and the rating processors, which she continues to do today. Many things have changed in the last 30 years; however, one thing remains the same: Ella consistently provides excellent service to every customer and ensures that her team does the same. This high level of service is what helps distinguish us from the rest and sets us up for success! She is an invaluable asset to our team and is always positive. You will never see her without a smile! We can't thank you enough for your service! Finding someone who has remained with one company for 30 years is rare. "On July 2, 2024, the U.S. Department of Labor announced a proposed rule aimed at safeguarding millions of workers from the health hazards of extreme heat. If finalized, this rule would apply to approximately 36 million workers in both indoor and outdoor settings, significantly reducing heat-related injuries, illnesses, and fatalities in the workplace." It is imperative that businesses formalize heat injury mitigation plans in writing and train employees.
