This month, Berkley is celebrating Women’s History Month, a time to recognize the vital role of women in American history. Women's History Month had its origins as a national celebration in 1981 when Congress authorized and requested the President to proclaim the week beginning March 7, 1982 as “Women’s History Week.” 1987 was the first year that March was designated as “Women’s History Month.” Berkley recognizes the contributions of women throughout history and the contributions of the women in our own workforce today! This month, Berkley is celebrating Black History Month, an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their role in U.S. history.
