Finding the time and motivation to exercise can be challenging, especially if you have a busy schedule, a demanding job, or a long commute. Fortunately, there are ways to squeeze in a workout in your workday, without sacrificing your sleep, your work, or your personal life. Here are some tips to help you get moving, and stay fit, even when you have a lot on your plate: - Do a workout that feels doable, not daunting. Don't set unrealistic expectations for yourself, or try to follow a routine that is too long, too hard, or too boring for you. Instead, choose a workout that suits your preferences, your goals, and your abilities. When workouts are enjoyable, their sustainable! - Take the guesswork out of it and follow a plan. Having a structured workout plan makes it easier to stick to your workout, avoid procrastination, distraction, or confusion. You can create your own plan, or follow one that is already designed by a professional (like me!). - Modify the plan so it fits your timeframe. Sometimes, you might have less time than you expected, or planned, to do your workout. Instead of skipping it altogether (and feeling guilty about it later), you can modify any workout to fit the time frame you have. An easy way to do this is reduce the number of sets, reps, or exercises. You can also increase the intensity, speed, or difficulty of your workout by making your workout a circuit with less rest time, or super set a few of the movements. You can also split your workout into smaller segments, and do them throughout the day, whenever you have a break, or a moment to yourself. Remember, something is better than nothing, and every minute counts.
