As we close out our first tour in Southampton, I’m reflecting on a deeply personal realization in the wrap up with Ken Hickling - I grew up in a town just like Southampton and now living in Miami, this moment reminded me that there's a huge difference between living a Life and living a Lifestyle. There are hundreds of thousands of people around the world whose lives are directly impacted by someone purchasing a Superyacht—people just like the ones we met on tour. They’re grinding away in offices, factories, and hopping from location to location to make this industry thrive... this is truly trickle down economics in action. As we gear up to close out the year, I’m about to share some of the most fun content we’ve created here at Between Two Yetis over the past few years. But before I hit “post,” we’ve got a little backstage work to do—time to clean the stage! This might sound a bit dramatic, but it’s something I learned early on in drama school (shoutout to Stanislavski and The Method). It’s all about having respect for your space and being aware of your surroundings. In fact, when we transformed an empty restaurant into a television studio a few years ago for the Yacht Law Summit, I made our host, David Maass, vacuum his “set” before he could start. Now, back then, David’s hourly rate was $450, so imagine my delight when I got a bill a few weeks later for “Light Housekeeping,” billed in the traditional 6-minute increments! 😂 This is why I still love this industry. We can be tackling some seriously important topics and issues, but we can’t forget to have a little fun along the way! A huge thanks to International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA) and Pier Sixty-Six for letting us go big with a production of this scale—and just wait until you see what we’ve got in store for 2025… Stay tuned, the seasonal antics are just getting started here at Between Two Yetis. We’ve got plenty more fun in store!
