Bexar County Community & Corrections Department (CSCD), or adult probation, continues to be the most widely used alternative to incarceration in the criminal justice system. CSCD is charged with public protection through the supervision of more than 19,000 probationers residing in Bexar County. CSCD is staffed by approximately 407 certified Community Supervision Officers (CSOs) and administrators, support staff, and staff dedicated to the residential treatment facilities. #PPPSWeek

The Bexar County Juvenile Probation Department empowers children to be good citizens by instilling responsibility, fostering growth, and helping them overcome adversity. In 2023, the team performed 12,991 home visits, with 75% of youths successfully completing the program. Did you know that last year, the pretrial team supervised the release of 20,350 individuals? Pretrial Services is a division of the Bexar County Office of Criminal Justice with 104 employees at 4 offices throughout the San Antonio downtown area. Their goal is to supervise individuals who have been granted Personal Recognizance Bonds by the Courts, supervising conditions for GPS tracking, drug testing, substance abuse treatment, mental health supervision, alcohol monitoring, special placement, pretrial diversion, and cite and release.
