Last week, we came together to welcome Erin Offord as our new CEO and honor Byron Sanders. The space was alive with art, poetry, music, and—most importantly—our friends and partners. We're excited for what’s to come under Erin’s leadership, building on the strategic foundation Byron established. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the event and to all who continue to support and share our mission.

We had an incredible day with Vickery Meadow Youth Development Foundation at the College Festival Turn Up! Youth explored their post-high school options – like colleges, trades, and entrepreneurship – and had fun at skill-building stations with gaming, music creation, and oil painting. Huge thanks to the advisors who sat down with youth to hear about their experiences and provide insight, and thanks to VMYDF for hosting an amazing day!

Ania, Angelica, and Dream represented Big Thought in Washington DC to speak on behalf of Opportunity Youth, advocating for legislators to join the Bipartisan Opportunity Youth Caucus and supporting the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, which supports Opportunity Youth programs. We’re proud of this team and *all* the youth from across the country who came together. Let’s give them their flowers 💐⬇️

The next step in our collective nationwide effort to transform public education is coming to life. We’re proud to announce the launch of our Learner-Centered Ecosystem Lab. Over the next year, twelve sites across the country will come together to advance pilots of learner-centered ecosystems. These sites span urban, rural, and suburban communities, and come from various starting points including out-of-school time providers, microschools, and public institutions. Together, Lab members will work with cross-sector experts and prototype solutions to the most pressing digital, social, and infrastructure challenges. Every child, inclusive of race, zip code, and circumstance deserves an education that is learner-centered. This is a big step in our movement to enable learner-centered education, and for young people to thrive. We’re grateful to be in partnership with these leaders and champions as we advance our mission.  Stay tuned for updates on how we’re reimagining public education! Welcome to our Learner-Centered Ecosystem Lab members: Big Thought, Big Picture Learning Native American Initiative, FabNewport, Lab School of Memphis, Liberty Public Schools, NACA Inspired Schools Network, Norris School District Academy, PAST Foundation, Purdue Polytechnic High Schools, Rock Tree Sky, Runway Green, and SparkNC. #Collaboration #Education #LearnerCentered #Community
