Starting with the 4.4-mile Diablo Test Track in Contra Costa County, BART began operation in 1972 and continues to connect San Francisco Bay Area residents today. Throughout our history, Bigge has been involved in many notable infrastructure projects across our great nation. The San Francisco Bay Bridge rebuild is no exception. Back around 2008, our Manitowoc 2250 and Liebherr LR1300 crawler cranes were hard at work on Yerba Buena Island building the temporary bypass section of the Bay Bridge so the existing tunnel approach bridge decks could be removed and replaced by the new suspension bridge we see today. Need a lift? We have over 100 years of experience in the heavy-lifting industry. Bigge provided the Liebherr LR 1750 crane for the New Harbor Bridge project in Corpus Christi, TX, to lift heavy box girders safely and precisely. This 800-ton capacity crawler crane, configured with a 207-foot main boom and 92-foot luffing jib, was chosen for its impressive lifting power and adaptability. The crane's deployment has been crucial in advancing the bridge's construction.
