CBSA was proud to partner with Colorado Real Estate Journal for an impactful 2025 Life Sciences Conference & Expo, bringing together life sciences leaders, real estate experts, and economic development champions to explore the future of life sciences growth in Colorado.
CBSA President & CEO Elyse Blazevich opened the event, highlighting Colorado’s drive to become a top five hub for life sciences, CBSA’s work to maintain state funding for advanced industries, and the CO Hub for Health Impact initiative. She also hosted a fireside chat with Travis McCready, Head of Industries, Markets Advisory, and Chair, Global Life Sciences Advisory Board, JLL, for an in-depth discussion on national trends shaping life sciences real estate.
Key discussions throughout the day reinforced Colorado’s strength as a leading life sciences market, showcasing:
- The impactful community-driven real estate projects supporting industry expansion
- Why global and homegrown companies are choosing Colorado
- How innovation hubs and new developments are creating space for groundbreaking research and manufacturing
- The evolving needs of life sciences tenants and best practices for flexible, purpose-built spaces
Travis emphasized that "Colorado is well established in the life sciences economy" and encouraged real estate developers to lean in to support incubators and accelerators, particularly in today’s challenging market. He also urged Colorado to be "unabashedly Colorado," as life sciences companies, talent, and investors seek authenticity when choosing a location.
Ian Anderson, Senior Director of Research & Analysis at CBRE, highlighted bright spots for Colorado in an uncertain national funding landscape, noting that Denver-Boulder now ranks among the top 20 life sciences R&D clusters globally and 21st in the world for life sciences venture funding from 2019-2024, continuing to fare better than other markets.
Thank you to Colorado Real Estate Journal for hosting an engaging and insightful event, and to all the speakers and attendees for driving important conversations about the future of Colorado’s life sciences ecosystem.
