Orlando Health’s Hospital Care at Home program represents an innovative clinical service delivered at home, specifically crafted for patients in need of inpatient care, made possible through technology and a tailored program. In a short video documentary posted by the health system this year, we learn about George Sullivan, a patient of Orlando Health Hospital Care at Home, who describes his positive experience with the program. Dr. Siddharaj Shah, senior director, Orlando Health Hospital Care at Home, also provides his perspective of the patient's story and an overview of the program. Biofourmis looks forward to playing a continued role in the success of the program, which is anticipated to become one of the largest and most successful hospital-at-home programs in the U.S. https://lnkd.in/g3PhwKaE I #HospitalAtHome #VirtualCare #CareAtHome #CareAnywhere #DigitalHealth #RemotePatientMonitoring

By leveraging digital endpoints, clinical trials can be more patient-centric, data-driven, and adaptable to meet the evolving needs of healthcare research. While digital endpoints’ potential is undeniable, widespread adoption remains a challenge. Decision-makers often lack clear value assessments, routine use cases, and efficient deployment strategies around digital endpoints, hindering their numerous benefits. Biofourmis is proud to play a role in Digital Medicine Society (DiMe)’s latest project “Building the Business Case for Digital Endpoints,” which aims to increase investment in digital measurement development and deployment in clinical trials. By developing a value framework, industry benchmarking tools, ROI forecasting models, and a modular template business case framework, our goal is to support innovators across the field to invest in digital endpoints and advance their broad adoption and scale in clinical research. https://lnkd.in/gp4YP2Kt I #DigitalClinicalTrials #DigitalEndpoints #DigitalBiomarkers #DigitalHealth Fierce Healthcare

"Wearable sensor technologies are revolutionizing health research, especially in chronic disease management, by producing real-time health data that can be transformed into digital biomarkers." However, systematic methods for collecting, interpreting, analyzing, and translating this data are lacking. Drawing from the BarKA-MS observational, longitudinal cohort study on physical rehabilitation in individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS), new research presents ten key insights into digital biomarker development. These lessons are intended to guide future research and teaching in utilizing wearable sensor data for digital biomarker development and chronic disease management. https://lnkd.in/gfGhr4J5 I #ChronicDiseaseManagement #DigitalBiomarkers #DigitalHealth Nature Portfolio

Virtual care has proven to be an effective tool, yielding high patient satisfaction without adverse safety events, according to a study published in JAMA Network Open. Focused on remote radiation oncology care, the study revealed that patients rated virtual care as good or very good, with nearly all avoiding adverse safety events. The remote model significantly reduced travel burdens and costs for patients, with substantial mileage and cost savings reported. Among nearly 3,000 patients surveyed from 2020 to 2022, 98% expressed high satisfaction, and most safety events posed no harm to patients. Researchers emphasized the benefits of remote care, including enhanced access to clinicians, reduced travel, and significant cost savings. These findings suggest that virtual care will continue to play a vital role in chronic care management. https://lnkd.in/grMkeqTZ I #Oncology #RemotePatientMonitoring
