Recent findings underscore the critical role of nitric oxide (NO) in vascular regulation, thrombosis, and neurological health. Understanding these interconnections opens new avenues for research and therapy in #neurovascular diseases. 1. Endothelial Function: NO maintains vascular tone, essential for cerebral blood flow. Aging and atherosclerosis reduce NO bioavailability, impairing cerebrovascular autoregulation. 2. Thrombosis Link: NO scarcity leads to increased leukocyte and platelet adhesion, accelerating thrombus formation. This process is pivotal in stroke risk and cardiovascular health. 3. Neurological Impact: In the brain, NO deficiency correlates with increased tau phosphorylation, a hallmark of Alzheimer's and VCID. NO also influences blood-brain barrier integrity and modulates neuroinflammation. How can we leverage this knowledge to develop better treatments? What are other potential biomarkers that can aid in early detection and intervention? #VascularHealth #Neuroscience #Thrombosis #NitricOxide #InnovationInHealthcare https://lnkd.in/gwXHZXrm
