🤔 Market Insight 🤔 An incredible review article recently published from Nature outlining recent funding trends in the biotech market. Interesting to see that money is still moving into companies, however, companies understandably more risk averse. One of my big takeaways - lower volume but higher value funding rounds. https://lnkd.in/dXy82gd5

Here’s a quick tip to start your week off with! 🎯 ** Don’t stress the small stuff and Don’t forget to enjoy the process! ** It’s easy to get caught up in the technical details and forget that the person interviewing you is, well, a person too (even if an AI bot did help flag you as a match). That interviewer has hobbies, interests, and a life outside of work, just like you. While nailing the business and technical aspects is important, it’s equally valuable to connect on a human level. People often hire those they can relate to, not just those who tick the technical boxes. Plus, if you come across as eager, open-minded, and willing to learn, companies are more likely to see your potential ... even if you don’t check off all the technical boxes. So, don’t stress over the little things, and remember—you were chosen for this interview for a reason. You’ve got this! 💪

Everyone knows that job interviews can be stressful for candidates, who often worry that a minor mistake might disqualify them. But let's not forget the interviewers who also face pressure, such as finding the right candidate and avoiding the repercussions of a poor hiring decision. Today's article from Forbes explores ways a hiring manager can improve their interviewing process, here are some key takeaways. 💡To improve the interview experience: - Start with small talk to help candidates feel more at ease. This initial conversation can set a positive tone for the rest of the interview. - Gradually introduce tougher questions to avoid overwhelming the candidate from the start. 💡Preparation is crucial: Research candidates’ LinkedIn profiles and social media to gain insight into their background, skills, and personality. This helps in tailoring your questions and understanding their responses better. 💡 During the interview: Use open-ended questions to encourage detailed responses and demonstrate active listening to show genuine interest. 💡 Balance professionalism with friendliness to create a comfortable environment where candidates can perform their best. 💡 Invite candidates to ask their own questions, providing an opportunity for them to assess if the role and company are a good fit for them. 💡 Offer constructive feedback on their performance, which can be valuable for their growth and understanding. In the end, remember that a positive and respectful interview process enhances the experience for both the interviewer and the candidate, leading to better outcomes for both parties.

Are you managing a remote or hybrid team? This article might be just what you need! 🤔 Did you know that 30% of remote employees feel frustrated with their managers' communication? 🤔 Remote workers are 36% less likely than their in-office peers to believe that their managers are accessible or effective at building connections. So, how can you enhance the remote/hybrid work experience? 💡 Engage with your team to align on the best communication platforms and practices. 💡 Create a "clarity canvas" – a shared document that clearly outlines project goals, individual responsibilities, and key deadlines. 💡 Set up dedicated "office hours" for both remote and in-office employees. 💡 Designate specific days and times for collaborative work to focus team efforts and boost productivity. 💡 Organize monthly team-building activities to strengthen relationships and foster a cohesive team culture. 💡 Continuously seek feedback and evaluate the effectiveness of these strategies.

🏅 INTERVIEW ADVICE 🏅 Asking Strong Questions During an interview, it is important to remember that you are also interviewing them just as much as they are interviewing you! Coming equipped with a strong set of questions focused on the company culture, the technical platform, the role and responsibilities, and curiosities about the interviewer is essential to nailing the interview. To have a great set of questions that help uncover the core functions of the company and role, you must first do enough research to have a common understanding of the opportunity. (Please see the previous posting "Know Your Audience.") Here are some examples of strong interview questions: 🥇 What are the most immediate projects that need to be addressed in this role? 🥈 What skills and experiences are you looking for in the ideal candidate? 🥉 How would you determine if someone was successful within the first 6 months and 12 months in this role? 🎖 What attracted you to join this company, and what is keeping you here for the long term? 🤸♀️ I've read about the company's founding; can you tell me more about X? 🏊♀️ What are the team's biggest strengths and challenges? Attached here is a great article that dives further into great interview questions. We hope this helps with your next interview! https://lnkd.in/e99tu8c
