Meet one of our Montessori Credential Grantees: Amani Wright
Amani is a mother, teacher, and artist who has always held a deep love for #education. Inspired by her mother’s passion for reading and learning, Amani grew up excelling academically while exploring her creativity through visual arts, creative writing, and the performing arts. Though life led her down a different path after enrolling in the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Amani continued to nurture her love for learning by working as a tutor and essay editor.
In 2021, Amani became a mother and knew that #homeschooling her son would be a priority. However, balancing work and motherhood proved challenging, so she sought teaching opportunities that would also allow her to enroll her son in a school environment that aligned with her values. That’s when she discovered Wild Blossom Nature School, a place that ignited her passion for education and introduced her to the Washington #Montessori Institution and the Black Wildflowers Montessori Credential Grant.
With her grant, Amani is pursuing her Montessori Credential while teaching at Wild Blossom, where she has set clear goals for her future in education. She aspires to become the director of a future Wild Blossom location and, eventually, to open her own Montessori School.
