Blockchain for Impact (BFI) and CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) have signed an MoU to foster biomedical research and innovation under the aegis of the BFI-BIOME Virtual Network Program. This partnership will harness the drug research prowess of CSIR-CDRI to support the development of indigenous therapeutic interventions for tackling communicable and non-communicable diseases. Under this collaboration, BFI will fund CDRI over three years for conducting upstream research in disease biology and translating the results into therapeutics to face healthcare challenges of the future. With CSIR-CDRI, a premier drug research institute of India, now a part of the BFI-BIOME Virtual Network Program, BFI is positioned to contribute to national health missions and goals. Blockchain for Impact (BFI) and BRIC-TRANSLATIONAL HEALTH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE (BRIC-THSTI) have signed an MoU for expanding the frontiers of biomedical research and innovation under the aegis of the BFI-BIOME Virtual Network Program. Under this collaboration, BFI will allocate funds to BRIC-THSTI over three years for conducting upstream translational research in vaccines/infectious diseases/maternal and child health/diagnostics/and/or metabolic diseases. Reflecting on the partnership, Dr. Satya Prakash Dash, Senior Advisor, BFI, said, "This partnership with THSTI, a first with a DBT-BRIC institution, builds upon our existing collaborations with IISc, IIT Bombay, CSIR-CDRI & others as part of the BFI-BIOME program. This showcase not only demonstrated groundbreaking ideas but also facilitated networking opportunities, helping startups connect with potential collaborators and investors. It played a crucial role in supporting their journey toward scaling up and making a larger impact. BFI successfully hosted three impactful activities: Fireside Chat with BFI Leadership: Attendees engaged in a lively discussion, posting questions about the current challenges faced by startups and research scientists. This open forum provided valuable insights into the hurdles within the biotech sector and potential strategies to overcome them. Round Table Discussion: Another house-full session by BFI! The discussion on "Perspectives on Innovation and Translation in the Biomedical Sector for Viksit Bharat" brought together thought leaders, innovators, and policymakers to explore strategies for advancing biomedical innovation. The conversation highlighted the role of collaboration in driving solutions for a developed India, sparking new ideas and partnerships.
