Blue Sky Communities was formed in the Fall of 2012 with a foundation of over 50 years of affordable housing experience. Since then, the company has grown into a leader of providing affordable housing for the hardest working citizens in the State of Florida. In doing so, it has also evolved into a leader in helping non-profit organizations create new affordable housing and preserve existing developments for their clients.

Blue Sky was honored to be featured at the Florida Association of Local Housing Finance Authorities annual conference last week. The sold-out, three-day event was extremely productive and informative. Blue Sky team members Geoff Harlan and Stewart Beshears gave a "lunch-and-learn" where they shared success stories of how Blue Sky developments help to transform and improve communities across the State.
Since we are neck deep in new sites and new applications, now is a great time to express appreciation for the incredible team in our Acquisitions Department at Blue Sky Communities. This team creates new deals, pursues the funding and works alongside local governments to identify and pursue projects that make sense in their communities. Thank you to M.J. In Lee County last week, Blue Sky had the pleasure of meeting with Senator Marco Rubio's staff alongside our partner CASL to discuss the housing and support services we provide for those who are struggling with disabling conditions, homelessness, mental health and/or substance use disorders, and affordability. We toured Cypress Village, a 95-unit Blue Sky development, walkable to every conceivable service and many shared community resources such as a clubhouse, swimming pool and an onsite case management office. Blue Sky’s Geoff Harlan participated in an engaging housing panel discussion during last week’s Lee County Homeless Coalition General Meeting. Addressing homelessness through effective housing solutions was a central theme of the discussion. One standout example of such solutions is Cypress Village, a project we developed in partnership with Community Assisted & Supported Living, Inc. This development offers a total of 95 units, with half of them specifically reserved for individuals experiencing homelessness. We extend our gratitude to Lee County for their support and collaboration.
ICYMI! Swan Lake Village was featured in City of Lakeland's Community & Economic Development Housing Division One-year Annual Action plan! Swan Lake is an 84-unit development for families with disabilities.
