📃“𝘞𝘦’𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘫𝘰𝘣 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘦𝘳, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳.” - Takeaways from the CANUKUS Report on AI 📃 (Post #1) The #CANUKUS report—a collaboration between Canada, the UK, and the US—lays out a framework for how plants should think about AI in nuclear applications, dividing nuclear applications into four distinct categories based on two key factors: 🤖𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 and ⚠𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲. Breaking it down: 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 1️⃣ : 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁/𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆/𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 This is where AI functions as a helper—offering more information and insights yielding more reliable, safer outcomes, but always with the human in charge. If the AI fails, there’s no direct threat to plant safety or security. 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. ⚓ Blue Wave’s AI-based products deliver a level of unprecedented visibility that allows operators to make better decisions leading to safer and more economical operations but leave the control where it belongs—in your hands. 👐 It’s the best of both worlds: next-gen AI technology enhancing human decision-making without crossing the line into autonomy. 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 2️⃣ : 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻/𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝘄 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 Here AI takes on a more autonomous role, performing operations with less human input. There’s still time for human intervention, but the stakes are raised—errors here could directly affect safety, requiring rigorous safeguards. 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 3️⃣ : 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁/𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆/𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 Now AI still supports human decision-making, but the potential consequences of failure are higher. Human oversight remains critical, but there’s more at stake. 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 4️⃣ : 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻/𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝘄 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 AI systems operating here do so with minimal human oversight, meaning the risks are high if something goes wrong. The potential for serious safety or security consequences makes this category the most delicate, demanding the highest level of robustness and precaution. At Blue Wave, we believe that AI’s power lies in its ability to 𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 human intelligence, not replace it. Our products sit comfortably in 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟭, where AI serves as a tool for insight, collaboration, and 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴—but never compromises safety. We’re here to help, not take over. 🌊🚀 Stay tuned for Part 2 of our review of the CANUKUS report. DM us to learn how much more YOU can do 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 1️⃣ . #AIinNuclear #SafeIntelligence #HumanInTheLoop #BlueWaveAI #AIwithaHeartbeat
