🧰 The Boerne - Samuel V. Champion High School welding class completed a major project over the summer, highlighted in this short documentary film released this week. 📽 https://lnkd.in/gmAVNs_m Vocational education has a decades long tradition in Boerne. The welding class, led by teacher Dorman Vick, presented the completed project to former Gov. Rick Perry this past August. We are proud of this team of students, and the many community sponsors that made this project possible.

🧮 Tonight the Budget Strategy & Advisory Committee (BSAC) kicked off with their first meeting. Participants included BISD Board members, PTO representatives, District staff and community members. BSAC is a group that works with BISD leadership to address the district's financial challenges. The committee will work throughout the year to ensure the district’s financial stability.

Students from Curington Elementary School and Fabra Elementary School led the pledge of allegiance and Texas pledge tonight at the BISD Board Meeting. They also asked our Board of Trustees great questions! The presentation of colors was presented by the award-winning JROTC Color Guard from Boerne - Samuel V. Champion High School. We are proud of you!

🎣🏹🚣♂️ BOA time is officially here! Fifth graders from Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary School kicked off Boerne Outdoor Academy (BOA) last week at Hermann Sons Life Camp in Comfort. The three-day outdoor camp gives 5th grade students the opportunity to explore and learn outside, with lessons and activities specially tailored to the outdoors! We know our students had a blast!

Shoutout to Boerne Middle School South’s very own Lawrence Portie, Food Manager, who went above and beyond Saturday night at the Kendall County Jr. Livestock Rodeo Wild Game Dinner! Chef Portie, known for his amazing cooking and baking skills, served up hundreds of funnel cakes to support scholarships for graduating seniors. Your dedication and commitment to service are inspiring. Way to go, Chef Portie! 👏

🎉 Let’s hear it again for our Boerne Little League team! ⚾️ The team was recognized today at the UTSA vs. Florida Atlantic football game. “The Boys of Summer” finished 4th in the world at the Little League World Series this past summer. Thank you boys for representing our Boerne community so well!

Yesterday Boerne ISD Athletics held it's annual Athletic Hall of Honor luncheon at The Clubs Of Cordillera Ranch. The Hall of Honor recognizes former Boerne ISD athletes whose contribution to their sport created a lasting positive impact for their school and the community as a whole.
