Exciting progress at Skyland Town Center! The third and final phase of this major mixed-use development in Southeast Washington, D.C. is now underway. During the recent groundbreaking ceremony, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser highlighted the incredible journey and the promise fulfilled for Ward 7. We're proud of our MidAtlantic team for their role as the site civil engineering consultant, surveyor, master planner, landscape architect, and permitting agent, working diligently with the development and design teams to overcome challenges and keep the project moving forward. Once completed, Skyland Town Center will feature over 450 residences and 135,000+ square feet of retail space, enhancing the community with housing, dining, and shopping options, including affordable housing for seniors. We are thrilled to share that Sheila Nale, P.E., alongside the 2024 Women Build team for Habitat for Humanity of Washington, D.C. & Northern Virginia, successfully raised over $270,000. These funds were used to renovate three Habitat homes in the region. Construction update: Ballston Station/Central United Methodist Church in Arlington is nearly complete and slated to open this month. Bohler DC's Sheila Nale, P.E. recently led a site walk of the mixed-use project, which includes 144 affordable units, a daycare center, 2,500 SF of community amenity space, and a worship space for up to 200 people. We're thrilled to see this project come to fruition after more than a decade of planning.
