About us

We are The Boston Beer Company and together we are heavy. From the very beginning, Jim Koch wanted to create a company that he would want to work for, creating a culture that celebrated beer with a passion and depth of knowledge that can’t help but be contagious to others. Forty years of brewing beer and cultivating talent later, we continue to be a passionate group of individuals who focus on raising the bar in everything we do. We're always looking for hardworking, motivated and competitive people who strive to push the boundaries and never settle. Not to be lost in the shuffle is the ability to have fun – after all, we are a beer company, and if you can’t have fun in this business, there’s something wrong!

Last week, we attended the Alliance For Women in Beer’s Making Moves conference in San Diego. The two-day event celebrated the important role women play in the beverage industry and highlighted a lineup of inspiring speakers who shared insights on how to grow as leaders, including Erica Taylor, Sr. Director of Marketing here at Boston Beer Company. The event brought together Boston Beer coworkers from diverse teams and locations and was a unique opportunity to connect with women from across the industry. The Truly Brunch Pack has arrived! This past weekend, we flipped the script on bottomless brunch by going “Truly Bottomless” with a pantsless launch party hosted by two of this summer’s hottest reality stars, Serena Page & JaNa Craig. And these brunch-ready styles are certainly worth celebrating: 🌹 Rosé-Style: A lightly refreshing Rosé-inspired flavor blended with notes of strawberry, peach, green apple and raspberry. 🥂 Orange Mimosa-Style: A fresh, crisp, bubbly take on the staple, featuring the sweet flavor of mandarin oranges. 🍑 Peach Bellini-Style: Effervescent and bubbly, featuring candied peach flavors and aromas. 🍷 Cran Sangria-Style: An ode to the classic, with notes of floral cranberry blended with hints of cinnamon, apple, orange and warming spices. Fans who were unable to attend the event can still celebrate with merch from the exclusive "Truly Brunch-O'clock" capsule collection by heading to https://lnkd.in/eEZFNY8B.

Thank you to our friends at Fortune for sharing our story, one that starts with, "a beloved family recipe, a bootstrapped business plan, and a briefcase full of beer."

The secret to brewing up a $3 billion business idea: a beloved family recipe, a bootstrapped business plan, and a briefcase full of beer. bit.ly/3Bmfnyi Those are just some of the ingredients Samuel Adams founder Jim Koch used to launch his Boston-based beer brand in 1984. The then-34-year-old aspiring entrepreneur had just quit his six-figure gig at Boston Consulting Group—a decision his brewmaster father referred to as one of the “stupidest” things he had ever done—with a dream of launching a great American beer company. “You’ll never be very big, but you’ll probably stay out of the welfare line,” Koch recalled his father saying in an interview with Fortune. Now, Koch’s brand is one of America’s most recognized beers, and resides under the The Boston Beer Company’s larger umbrella with the likes of Twisted Tea and Angry Orchard Cider. Boston Beer Company continued Oktoberfest celebrations in Cincinnati last weekend at Zinzinnati -- the largest Oktoberfest event in the U.S.! Jim Koch, Boston Beer Company founder and brewer, kicked off the party by tapping the ceremonial keg. Then the pints kept flowing at the Samuel Adams Beer Garden where Samuel Adams Octoberfest, American Light and Just the Haze shined as fan favorites. Guest appearances included Mitchell Hooper, AKA "The World's Strongest Man," who stopped by to challenge drinkers in a traditional stein-hoisting competition. Would you have dared to out-hoist Hooper?

Cheers to the 2024 Boston Beer Company Homebrew Competition Champions! Talented coworkers wowed our judges, showing off their homemade recipes in two categories: beer and cider. And the winners are: 🍻 First Place, Beer: Jeremy Brown, a bartender at our Sam Adams Downtown Boston Taproom, took top honors with his American pale ale brewed with American and Australian hops. His win earns him a trip to Oktoberfest in Munich! 💪Second Place, Beer: Andrew Zembo, a market manager in Arkansas, secured second with his strong bitter, Aux Arc Bitter. 🥥Third Place, Beer: Jesse Rojko, a finance manager for Dogfish Head, brewed up an imperial stout with a touch of coconut for the bronze. 🍎First Place, Cider: Sam Arnold, a process engineer from our Sam Adams Pennsylvania Brewery, grabbed the gold with his Harvest Ciderwood Spice - cider with cinnamon and nutmeg. The Boston Beer Company Homebrew Competition grew out of the Longshot Competition, which called on the public to submit recipes for a chance to bring their beers to drinkers across the nation in partnership with Samuel Adams. Although this competition is now only open to coworkers, it still pays homage to our homebrewing roots and one of our core values: innovation.
