Breaking news - Boston Metal successfully commissioned its industrial-scale Molten Oxide Electrolysis (MOE) cell for green #steel production. “I can now say that tonnage steel is flowing from our multi-inert anode MOE cell,” said Tadeu Carneiro, CEO of Boston Metal. “With this milestone, we are taking a major step forward in making green steel a reality and we’re doing it right here in the U.S., demonstrating a critical #innovation that can enhance domestic #manufacturing.” This breakthrough in the performance of our inert anode de-risks our MOE platform #technology and proves scalability for efficient steel decarbonization. CEO Tadeu Carneiro spoke about the powerful women in his life and quoted Desmond Tutu, saying, “It is by standing up for the rights of girls and women that we truly measure up as men.” We also welcomed Kip Hollister, founder & CEO of The Hollister Group, who discussed allyship and the importance of #uplifting others as well as tools we can use to overcome conflict and find solutions in our everyday lives. Happy Carnaval! To celebrate alongside our Boston Metal do Brasil teammates, we enjoyed fresh pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread) at our U.S. offices. Our #team in #Brazil enjoyed special decorations and popsicles last week to commemorate the holiday. Carnaval is Brazil’s most popular and vibrant festival, known for music, dance and parades. Our MOE #technology is at work for two revolutionary applications: #steel and high-value metals. At our headquarters in Woburn, Massachusetts, MOE is decarbonizing steelmaking by using electricity in an efficient, one-step process that has the potential to cut nearly 10% of the world’s carbon emissions. In Minas Gerais, #Brazil, our subsidiary Boston Metal do Brasil is deploying MOE to recover value from mining waste, offering a sustainable and profitable solution for the metals and #mining industries. Last week, the Boston Metal Women’s Network held a Stress Management Workshop where over thirty team members joined in person & remotely to learn about common mind traps and stress management techniques.
