  • Yesterday, we had the privilege of attending the VIP Tour at Chicago Public Schools Skilled Trades Event: Building Chicago’s Skyline! It was incredible to see so many students engaged, eager to learn, and exploring careers in the trades. We also caught up with Elevate Design Build Group, who shared insights on various pathways within the trades and their work on Home Court at the Obama Presidential Center. Touring the Carpenters Chicago Training Center and hearing firsthand from students about their experiences reinforced the importance of investing in skilled trades—because building the next generation means building the future of our city! #BuildWithBowa

  • Big thanks to Chicago Women in Trades for inviting us to the recent job fair! It was a great opportunity to connect with talented women looking to build their futures in construction. We’re excited to keep the momentum going and will be at the upcoming Mock Interview Day hosted by Revolution Workshop on March 14! This event gives participants a chance to learn more about the construction industry and practice sharing their career goals. While it’s not a formal job interview, it will be a great way to meet potential candidates as they prepare to launch their careers. We look forward to connecting with the next generation of construction professionals!

  • We honor those who came before us by sharing our wisdom along the way, knowing that our actions today shape the legacy we leave behind. We’ve heard wonderful feedback about the panel featuring our president, Nosa Ehimwenman, alongside our valued partners from Related Midwest. #chicagoconstruction #BOWAconstruction #genuinepartnership

Fabulous panel on Related Midwest’s incredible 400 N Lake Shore Drive tower project! I am inspired by this team and their partnership. A few pearls of wisdom: Buildings are about people. This building signifies that we are a city that has been here a very long time. DuSable park was envisioned decades ago by Mayor Harold Washington and we get to bring that to fruition. Twenty percent of the housing is affordable. This gateway to Chicago will provide quality, wonderful housing for people from all walks of life. On Related’s partnership with BOWA Construction : You can’t get experience if no one gives you the opportunity for experience. Our city will be better when everyone has access and an opportunity. Who are you partnering with? DEI is under attack. Call it whatever you like, but the people who live in all communities deserve access. This is a relationship business. The true test of the relationship is you have to perform. If the mindset is collectively the team winning, that’s how we will have more cranes in the air. Be a good person, do the right thing and treat each other well. Just respect one another and you’re gonna be okay. Camaraderie is important. When you walk into a site and it’s there, you’ll know it. Culture comes down to respect. No one individual has all it takes to complete any of these projects. They are very complex. The building can stand for really good, positive, necessary change that will make our industry better than it is now. Advice for job seekers: Be Humble. Stay Hungry. Build Relationships. If you’re gonna build in the sky, you have to be invited.
