We're thrilled to announce that Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley has been awarded a grant from United Way of Greater Knoxville! 🎉 Thanks to their support, we can continue to offer impactful programs like Project Learn, Healthy Lifestyles, and MESH (Member Emotional and Social Health). These programs help our members excel academically, make healthy choices, and develop essential social skills. 💪 Every day, we see the positive change in our youth—whether it's gaining confidence to say "no" to risky behaviors or improving mental health through MESH. Together, we're building brighter futures! 🌟 #UnitedWeCan #BGCTNV #WeChangeLivesAndCanProveIt @unitedwayknox

Last week, I was in Jackson, TN to speak at the Area Council Meeting for the Boys and Girls Clubs. I'm Chair-Elect for the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley where I've been serving on the board for almost 10 years. What started out as a mid-career leadership development opportunity has grown into a significant aspect of my life. I now serve on the board of 4 local nonprofits! ✅I'd highly recommend the experience to anyone who wants to use their skills in a different way and impact causes and communities they care about. ❓Interested in pursuing board service? Here are three easy ways to get started on a nonprofit board: 1️⃣🏢Ask your company to nominate you. Many organizations actively look for opportunities to engage with community organizations in the locations they serve. This is one way they can do that. (that's how I got on the Boys and Girls Club board). 2️⃣💁🏾♀️Volunteer first. If there is a cause that you care about, start as a volunteer/participant and signal your interest in serving in a leadership capacity. (that is how I got on the board of the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center and the East Tennessee Economic Council) 3️⃣🛜Use your professional network. Talk with people in your network and see if they are serving on boards. If they are, chances are they know of organizations looking for members and can make introductions. (That is how I got on the Muse board). We are proud to announce that Modern Woodmen's Foote region has donated $15,400 to the Boys & Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley through our matching fund program! This contribution was made possible by the funds raised at the Visit Knoxville Open last month. We believe in fostering strong communities, and supporting youth organizations like the Boys & Girls Club is a core part of our mission. #ModernWoodmen #GivingBack #BoysandGirlsClubs #Community #Knoxville #Fraternal

We focused on enhancing organizational health by building a cohesive leadership team and aligning around our core values, strategic priorities, and our rallying cry. Highlights include: 🔹 Strengthening trust and collaboration within the team 🔹 Embracing open and constructive communication 🔹 Gaining clarity and alignment on our most critical issues 🔹 Defining strategic anchors that will guide our decisions 🔹 Identifying and committing to our unified purpose and goals The energy and commitment from this group were phenomenal. Together, we're poised to drive impactful change and create an even brighter future for the youth we serve. #LeadershipDevelopment #OrganizationalHealth #Teamwork #YouthDevelopment #THEBoys&GirlsClubsoftheTennesseeValley #UnlimitedPerspectives

We’ve been lucky to call Centriworks a partner for many years- thank you. And what a great throwback pic!
To Our Community, We Commit: To invest money and manpower to achieve civic goals Throwback Thursday: A stroll down memory lane (or, in this case, the links at Fox Den Country Club) with legends! Twenty-one years ago this month, Centriworks (formerly Thermocopy) helped develop and co-sponsored the Hilliard Lyons / Thermocopy 2003 Knoxville Open Celebrity Skins Game. This event was a prelude to the main event, the Knoxville Open Golf Tournament. The celebrities were University of Tennessee and NFL football legend Peyton Manning, Tennessee Titans kicker Al DelGreco and tight end Frank Wycheck, and Marty Roe, lead singer of the band Diamond Rio. It was a great time! The celebrities were a fun group, and decent golfers! I forget who won. But best of all? A lot of money was raised to advance the mission of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley!
