New product is 🔥. Even if your brand has a stable of long-standing bestsellers that drive most of your sales, new products build buzz and draw customers to your brand, supporting your *whole* collection. If you have consistent new releases and a presence among the “new,” you have a better chance of getting your brand in front of the end customer. #BrandJumpBeliefs

Getting to a shorter lead time doesn’t happen overnight. 5 steps brands can take to get there: 1. Make sure you *can* ship quick. Your brand should have the operational efficiencies in place to ship items within 12-24 hours. If your warehouses are strategically placed, that will allow most regions to deliver items in 2 days. 2. Understand the big picture of your online business. What are the areas you’re shipping to the most? How quickly are items getting to your closest region? Or the furthest out? Seeing the logistical landscape will help you navigate what’s needed to achieve a short delivery time across the map. 3. Use your never-out list. We talk about the never-out list as it relates to inventory, but it can also be used to determine which products you should prioritize shipping quickly if you can’t make it happen for your entire catalog. Shortening the lead time on some products (especially if they’re your key products) is better than none at all. 4. Consider adding an additional warehouse or 3PL solution to fill delivery gaps in any high-volume areas. That can be done by sourcing your own warehouse, or through a retailer’s program like Wayfair’s CastleGate or Amazon’s FBA. 5. Audit your product messaging. If quick shipping is your norm, make sure your retailers are aware of this and are highlighting it wherever possible, not just in the fine print on the product page. Is there a badge or callout they can add to pages to communicate that to the customer? In #ecommerce, those who prioritize shorter lead times will be better positioned to elevate their brand reputation, get exposure to more customers and remain resilient in an industry that thrives on innovation and speed.

If you're an international brand building a business in the U.S., it’s crucial to get your content up to U.S. and retailer standards. Think of translating your content in two buckets: user-facing content and non-user-facing content. 👉 User-facing content that might need translation or adjustments include things like bullet points, product imagery (depending on U.S. assortment plans), product descriptions, website copy and various marketing materials. 👉 Non-user-facing content is less glamorous, but arguably more crucial in getting up and running. This piece includes things like shipping weights, product weights, product specifications and retailer requirements—all things that are required to get a product live on a retailer website. Content is king in ecommerce. Making note of U.S. standards, developing a plan and then giving yourself ample time to execute will alleviate headaches and make the transition to market more seamless. #ecommerce #ecommercestrategy #homefurnishings
