Earlier this summer, our loyal partners IREM Greater Denver Chapter IREM Greater Denver and Lokal Homes brought more than 60 volunteers to our Aurora campus to beautify outdoor spaces. From repairing and replanting raised garden beds to installing ornamental grasses and pretty pops of seasonal color, these efforts amounted to $5,000 in labor savings alone. All supplies and hard costs were also generously donated. These annual improvements to our courtyard and grounds ensure families can continue enjoying the outdoors as a space for community, recreation, and healing. Each year, a group of passionate students from The University of Texas at Austin commit to an 18-month extracurricular program. Their training and leadership development culminates in the Texas 4000 for Cancer, a 70-day, 3-route, 4,000-mile trek from Austin to Alaska to raise funds and awareness for cancer research. Brent's Place has been a grateful partner and grantee for the last decade. We had the honor of hosting 20 cyclists on the Rocky Mountains route last month at our Aurora campus. This crew of passionate pedalers only have 8 days to the finish line!
