Excuse the long post, but there are many who need to see this today and every day. There are days in #seniorliving that are joy filled and there are days that are difficult. Each day our caregivers come into our communities, especially our Lilac Trace memory care neighborhoods, and they make a difference for residents and families they serve. They are silent heroes. Then, one day a family member innocently drops off some cupcakes and a heartfelt letter that reminds each and every one of us why we do what we do. While this is a shout out to our Somerby Franklin community, it is a testament to every one of our caregivers at every one of our communities, as well as others in our industry. It's been shortened for privacy and length. Dear Lilac Trace Staff I cannot thank you ALL enough for everything you do for my mom and all the residents in this precious community, but I hope these little cakes will bring you a tiny bit of joy today. To the caregivers: You are especially on my heart this morning, and I want to say an extra, sincere "thank you" to you all. What you do does NOT go unnoticed. Every time I visit my mom, I see you: -I see you rushing from one hall to another to help someone in the bathroom. -I see you sitting patiently with men and women while they ever so slowly eat their meals. Smiling at them even when they don't smile back. Wiping their mouth to protect their dignity. Holding a cup to quivering lips...putting a sandwich into confused hands. -I see you take verbal arrows from residents who have lost the patient and grateful parts of themselves. Though you understand the arrows aren't intentional...all arrows hurt. And, although you know they will come again, you pull the arrow out and continue to serve. -I see you smile when you don't really feel it. -I see you get up to open doors just as you sit down. -I see that you are the ones who are with (each resident) most often...spending hours when I'm not there. Most hours are spent with you. ...What you do every single day matters more than you will ever know this side of heaven. You are kind to human beings who are losing parts of themselves slowly... and I can't thank you enough. Please know you are seen and appreciated. Every smile comforts me, everything you do is a gift...knowing you are all around is like having someone helping me carry the heaviest load I've ever carried. YOU matter. Every singly thing you do matters. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!

At Somerby Franklin, our Environmental Services Director, Jason, is not only a pro at maintaining Somerby Franklin but also a talented paper airplane enthusiast! This week, he and Amy from Lifestyles hosted a fun paper airplane class as the “Paper Airplane Engineers" and it was an absolute joy for our residents to build and launch our creative creations! #ShowLove #BridgeSeniorLiving

Reviews like this are a powerful testament to the exceptional care provided at The Bridges at Warwick and other Bridge Senior Living communities. Read the Full Review: "I cannot say enough about the staff at the Bridges. My mom has been in various facilities and hands down, "The Bridges" far exceeds expectations. I will share my experience with anyone who has questions. In each facility, they sell you when you are looking for a caring and responsible, professional place for your mom/dad and promise you the world. Then you move in and find out the place has numerous disappointments. Not at the Bridges. If you have a problem, speak up. The Executive Director, Kim always wants to know if there is an issue. She recently said in a weekly email from her (which is amazing) that she sends to family members, "If you don't tell me your concerns, I can't fix them." Speak up and she will rectify any and all concerns. The nursing care is top-notch, always having a professional on hand. The Med-techs are warm and professional and the aides are loving, caring and serve with the utmost dignity for your loved ones. My mom recently passed away while on hospice at the Bridges and the staff was like family to us as well as Mom. She loved everyone who cared for her and her passing was comfortable and peaceful. She was in her home. Thank you to the Bridges, Kim, Kathy, Melissa, Sarah, Ralph and all the staff. I can't name them all here but I will always remember all of you. I don't often do reviews but knowing the difficulty in finding a safe, warm and loving place for a parent, I had to post this. Hope it helps others." —Therese A., daughter of a former resident at The Bridges at Warwick #BridgeSeniorLiving #ShowLove
