During last week's Friday training, our DC intern cohort heard from BroadFutures Board Member, Christine Fruehwirth, who shared valuable advice on how to thoughtfully prepare for the interview process, and how to artfully message your experience in an interview. Thank you, Christine, for joining us last week to prepare our interns for their future careers! #BroadFutures #Interview #InterviewPrep #Neurodiversity #CareerReadiness

Today marks a significant milestone in the United States' journey towards inclusivity and accessibility! 34 years ago, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was ratified, paving the way for equal rights and opportunities for all. Today, we celebrate the progress made and recommit ourselves to creating a more inclusive world where every person, regardless of ability, can thrive. #ADA #Disability #DisabilityPrideMonth #DisabilityInclusion #Accessibility

We are thrilled to be partnering with The Arc of the United States for the first time this summer! Previously, BroadFutures partnered with The Arc of Virginia, and we look forward to growing our impact together and serving even more neurodivergent young people. Katy Neas, CEO of The Arc of The United States, shared with us her reflection on our partnership and how our missions overlap and support each other. #TheArc #BroadFutures #DisabilityInclusion #DisabilityPride #DisabilityPrideMonth #Neurodiversity

In line with our Gala theme this year, Voices for Change, and in celebration of Disability Pride Month, we invited BroadFutures’ alumnus, Cole Beaty, and BroadFutures Board Member and National Employer Partner, Sam Flood, to share more about their participation with our programs and the importance of disability pride and inclusion. Cole participated in our DC Internship program during the Summer of 2021 and Winter of 2022, where he interned with Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and The Brookings Institution. Cole now works as a Research Assistant at The Global Situation Room, Inc. Sam Flood is a BroadFutures Board Member and the Executive Producer and President of Production at NBC Sports. NBC Sports, a longtime employer partner, began as a local DC partner and is now part of our national employer partner cohort, working with BroadFutures interns at their Connecticut and Florida offices. NBC Sports is being recognized this year for their inspired commitment to our mission and workplace inclusion as a Champion Awardee at our Fall Gala: Voices for Change. BroadFutures has been at the Disability:IN Conference this week and it has been a wonderful event so far with impactful programming and inspiring presentations from leaders in the disability space. We were also thrilled to see that some of our employer partners have made Disability:IN's newly released 2024 list of best places to work for disability inclusion! Shout out to our partners: American Institutes for Research, Booz Allen Hamilton, CBRE, and Merck! Our work would not be possible without the collaboration and support from our employer partners. #DisabilityIN #BroadFutures #DisabilityInclusion #Inclusion #Accessibility #Neurodiversity #Employment https://lnkd.in/dCvFc7xm
