Brooklyn Book Bodega is honored to share that it is a 2024 Library of Congress Literacy Awards Program Emerging Strategies Honoree. The Library of Congress Literacy Awards Program recognizes organizations in the United States and abroad that provide exemplary, innovative, sustainable, and replicable strategies to promote literacy and reading. Twenty-four organizations working to expand literacy and promote reading were awarded the 2024 Library of Congress Literacy Awards September 8 on International Literacy Day. Earlier this month, lawyers and staff from Robinson+Cole’s New York office volunteered to stamp and pack books at the Brooklyn Book Bodega as part of the firm’s Summer of Service initiative. Brooklyn Book Bodega provides access to and ownership of books, builds community, and creates a passion for learning through free events and literacy-based community programming.
