The Las Virgenes - Triunfo Joint Powers Authority is one step closer to creating a sustainable local water supply with the Pure Water Project Las Virgenes – Triunfo. https://ow.ly/3VGX50TAEua This innovative project will use purified recycled water to create water reliability for the local water district and community, which has been historically 100% reliant on imported water. In a first for the authority, the JPA selected the progressive design-build delivery model to achieve these goals with The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western and Brown and Caldwell in partnership with Carollo Engineers and Trussell. The PDB team with the Las Virgenes - Triunfo Joint Powers Authority is excited to lead the way on this groundbreaking project. What does a 100% water recycling future look like? Get a glimpse inside what’s possible at LA Sanitation & Environment's Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant Advanced Water Purification Facility. https://ow.ly/QejL50TvA5U In the latest installment of the interactive series "From Proof to Proven: Journeys to Water Independence," we feature City of Los Angeles' Hyperion facility, one of the largest water reclamation plants in the country. Together with LASAN, the BC-Walsh (The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western) team completed a full-scale proof-of-concept 1.5-mgd project on a 30% reduced footprint using progressive #designbuild delivery to save $7 million and pave the way to support 50% of Los Angeles’ potable water needs in the future. With a third less space than originally planned, the team collaborated with operations and engineering staff on ways to creatively think “inside the box.” Innovative components include: • Treatment process equipment location • Operating equipment accessibility • Post-treatment technology • MBR basins depth • Advanced Treatment Building design Stay tuned as we continue to unveil new stories, each presenting a different dream come true for water independence. https://ow.ly/Muur50TvA5V #RecycledWater #WaterReuse #Wastewater #WaterSupply
