Brown Trucking Company competed in the Truck Driving Competition at the 2024 GMTA Annual Event last weekend. There were about 200 drivers and 80 first time competitors (including us!) from Georgia. Larry Bullard, a Million Mile Hall of Fame CVO from our Lithonia, GA location, competed by completing a Pre-trip Inspection, a written test, and a driving skills test. Larry was supported over the weekend by his family along with Safety Manager Alex Smith and Director of Retention Tom Anderson. Though we didn’t place this year, we gathered a ton of knowledge and experience for next year's event!

Brown Logistics Services has joined the SmartWay® Transport Partnership, an innovative collaboration between U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and industry that provides a framework to assess the environmental and energy efficiency of goods movement supply chains. Brown Logistics Services will contribute to the Partnership’s savings of 357 million barrels of oil, $47.6 billion on fuel costs, 2.7 million tons of NOX and 112,000 tons of PM. This is equivalent to eliminating annual energy use in over 23 million homes. By joining SmartWay Transport Partnership, Brown Logistics Services demonstrates its strong environmental leadership and corporate responsibility for sustainability.

Last month we had the honor of inducting 4 new 1 Million Mile Safe CVOs and 4 new 2 Million Mile Safe CVOs to our Hall of Fame at our annual event in Myrtle Beach, SC. Their achievement requires an immense amount of time, skill and dedication to safety. Congratulations to our elite CVOs for this major milestone in their career!
