B&M recently conducted Thermal Integrity Profiling (TIP) testing for PennDOT, marking our first experience with this non-destructive testing method. We were pleased to see the testing go well, as it plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of concrete foundations. This testing was essential for ensuring the long-term stability of the dynamic message sign. Additionally, temperature VS depth testing was also performed to assist in foundation design, as certain soils can expand or contract with temperature changes. The temperature at different depths can also affect the curing time and quality of concrete, especially in deep foundation work. The B&M transportation team is working underground, right beneath the D.C. Metro. The high-speed rail system serves nearly a million commuters daily across the nation’s capital. Our team is installing and wiring a new fire alarm system. This system adds an extra layer of security for the commuters, reducing potential risks in case of an emergency. Bruce & Merrilees has recently completed comprehensive facility upgrades and installations at a data center in Central PA. The project scope included the removal and installation of a new generator, switchgear, and panelboards, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The team also carried out a service upgrade, revamped the HVAC system for better climate control and upgraded the fire alarm system for enhanced safety. The Bruce & Merrilees transportation team has been working on improvements at 15 traffic intersections in Charleroi, PA. The team has successfully installed 11 new traffic signals across various intersections. Additionally, to optimize traffic management, 4 outdated signals have been removed and replaced with stop signs.
