🌿🍻 Hops on the Hill! 🍻🌿 This month, BCI’s Alicia Adler led the Hop Industry Hill Climb in support of critical research scientists and programs funded by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS). Representatives from the HOP RESEARCH COUNCIL, Hop Growers Of America Inc, state hop grower associations, and the Brewers Association took their message to Washington, D.C., meeting with USDA ARS and Farm Production and Conservation (FPAC) officials before heading into two full days of meetings with Members of Congress. The week wrapped up with a "We Grow Beer" reception, co-hosted with the American Malting Barley Association (AMBA), which gave Congressional staff a hands-on (and nose-on!) experience with fresh hops while connecting with multi-generational growers. Advocacy like this helps keep innovation brewing in the hop industry! 🍺💪 🔎 What USDA-funded research programs have made a difference for your industry? Drop your thoughts in the comments! 👇 #AssociationManagement #HopIndustry #USDAResearch

🌎 We’re in a Transition of Trade – What Does It Mean for You? During this week's National Potato Council's DC Fly-In, BCI’s Matt Lantz sat down with Lane Nordlund to discuss the shifting global trade landscape. As policies evolve, Lantz emphasized that we are in a “wait and see” period—stakeholders shouldn’t overreact to headlines but instead focus on what is actually being implemented. He also highlighted that now is the time for change. If your commodity has faced longstanding trade barriers, this could be the moment to push for a breakthrough. He pointed out that during Trump’s first administration, U.S. fresh potatoes gained access to the Chinese market for the first time in 20 years—demonstrating that trade shifts create new opportunities. 📩 If you're interested in understanding how your commodity should be responding and even taking advantage of the changing trade landscape, email bci@bryantchristie.com to schedule a meeting with BCI's trade experts. 📺 Watch Matt’s full interview here: https://bit.ly/43lzgkG #WaitAndSee #GlobalTrade #TradeBarrier #Tarrifs National Potato Council

The Global Access team at Bryant Christie Inc. has been monitoring and responding to the trade policy updates impacting our clients in recent weeks. While these feel urgent, we’ve spent the past 30+ years tackling complex trade issues like tariff barriers, phytosanitary restrictions, or pesticide residue limits. In 1993, we helped resolve a costly issue in Japan where a slight curve in a label’s design held up thousands of boxes of exports. Years later, we worked to prevent a major disruption to U.S. potato exports over pesticide standards in Korea, with hundreds of issues in between. Trade policy involves behind-the-scenes tactics that shape global market access. Read our latest case study for a look at the challenges we’ve overcome and how they’ve shaped our work today: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gtA-efGB #TradeBarriers #PhytosanitaryRestrictions #Tariffs #MRLs #TradePolicy #MarketAccess #GlobalAccess #GATT #WTO #SPS #FreeTrade #CaseStudy USDA USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

✋ How does #Codex serve as the "hidden hand" of global trade?🌎 One example - Codex promotes science-based harmonization of regulatory standards like those for pesticide MRLs. BCI’s COO, Eric Rosenberg, explores this in a new op-ed for CropLife International. 🔍 Read his article here: https://lnkd.in/eQ2Meij8 #MarketAccess #TradePolicy #Agriculture #TradeBarriers
Are you reading this over a cup of coffee? Consider this: #coffee is a high value commodity, grown in 75 countries around the world. The economic benefits to the growers and those adding value later in the supply chain depends on the smooth operation of global green coffee trade flows. This is where #Codex comes in, harmonizing regulations amongst trading partners by providing a science-based reference for standard setting. Bryant Christie Inc., has taken a deep dive into how Codex underpins the economics, safety and security of the coffee trade – hear from their Executive Vice President Eric Rosenberg here: https://lnkd.in/eQ2Meij8 Enjoy the coffee break!
