🖋️ Tattoo For Buckelew, coming Sept. 13, holds special meaning for Nick Paine, co-owner of Faith Tattoo in Santa Rosa. For decades, Nick watched his mother battle acute mental illness and drug addiction, which ultimately took her life in 2022. Diagnoses and treatments were moving targets, and resources were scarce. When the Tattoo For Buckelew organizers invited Nick's studio to participate in this fundraiser for our suicide prevention programs, he didn’t hesitate to join. 💬 “If there were more behavioral health programs like Buckelew provides, if they received more funding, were more accessible and more publicly known, I'm sure there would be fewer tragedies like this. Far fewer people would get left behind,” Nick says. 👉🏼 Here's how to get tattooed by Nick or the other 15 participating artists at Faith on Sept. 13: 📍 600 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa 🕙 10 am-10 pm. First come, first served – arrive early to get your name on the list. 🐉 Choose from a sheet of flash with available designs. For sneak peeks, follow FaithTattoo on Facebook and Insta. ❓Questions? Email info@faithtattooca.com A BIG BUCKELEW THANK YOU 🙏🏻 to Nick, Jesse Swanson and the two other shops donating 100% of their proceeds on Sept. 13, which are: 🖋️ Petaluma Tattoo 🖋️ Hidden Coast #TattooForBuckelew #youarenotalone #endthestigma #mentalhealthmatters #tattooflashday #fridaythe13th #SuicidePreventionAwarenessMonth

🦋 New Bilingual Support Group for Latina Moms: Buckelew is excited to announce the launch of a new clinical therapy group, “Mariposa,” for Spanish-speaking women experiencing postpartum mental health challenges. If you or someone you know could benefit from this clinician-led group, please contact Elsa Rubenstein, AMFT at 415.798.6248 or ElsaR@Buckelew.org to learn more. This Spanish-language support group fills a critical need: * Studies have found that 1 in 7 women develop postpartum depression. And women who experienced depression before or after giving birth were three times more likely to attempt or die by suicide. * Among our local Latino population, suicide rates among both genders have nearly doubled since 2016, far outpacing national trends, according to a recent Press Democrat analysis. Local mental health leaders point to a longstanding lack of bilingual support and cultural barriers as significant obstacles to care. Buckelew is committed to providing access to care. Our new support group is made possible by a generous grant from the Lindskog Foundation, whose support also helped expand Buckelew’s Suicide Prevention Outreach program. We were able to reach and educate 6,000 people directly during fiscal year 2024!

It's #TeamMemberTuesday! Today we honor Nicole Natividad, System Navigator for Family Service Coordination (FSC) 🌟. Nicole has been an FSC team member for 4 years, working with individuals and their allies who have been impacted by behavioral health and substance use challenges to access the services and support they need. FSC offers support groups, 1 : 1 support, education and help with navigating the complex system of care. During her time working with Buckelew, Nicole has helped many individuals, families and allies. We’re grateful for Nicole's contribution to our community through her work with Buckelew FSC! Nicole says "I enjoy working for an organization that is making a positive impact on our community through various programs and our passion for serving the whole human, not JUST their diagnosis." When she's not working, Nicole enjoys spending time at home with her beautiful daughter and her beloved 🐈 🐶 pets. She loves to go on beach outings, take 📷 photos (on actual film!), and work on home projects at their "new-to-us" house. We appreciate your #hardwork and #dedication, Nicole! 💗 #ouremployeesrule #nonprofitlife #mentalhealthmatters
