At Buhl Investors, a commitment to true craftsmanship and an appreciation for intricate design details set them apart. The @esox_house project, realized in collaboration with Stōnfab LLC. & Peter D., showcases a 10,000lb monolithic fireplace that is truly a work of art. Crafted from granite originally used in the historic Metropolitan Building in Minneapolis (1890-1961), this fireplace carries a rich history and has a special story! Such a fun project to showcase our fabrication and masonry craftsmanship skills on. 🗿🗿🗿 View and learn here: https://lnkd.in/gzxTxhrW Bozzuto Frana Companies Snow Kreilich Architects 🎥: Eric Nelson . #craftsmanship #luxurydesign #historicarchitecture

Buhl Investors always pushes to grow and test new ideas. Integrating mass customization and parametric architecture into design is a leading trend we embrace. It creates differentiated results and will eventually lead the charge in delivering lighter structure with less material waste. Recent highlights include the rainscreen on one of our buildings at 50th & France, the CNC entry detailing at Esox House and the café table at the center of the 2nd floor lounge. Not only can these create moments of awe, or elicit a desire to stay longer, technology is allowing us to create new art. Manufacturing these elements often involves many trades as was the case with the rainscreen. Buhl Investors cold called foundries across the surrounding 5 states before finding a tremendous partner in All American patterning. With the help of University of Northern Iowa we tested green sand casts for different draft layout and found success. Well done @All American Patterning! #parametricarchitecture, #architecture, #grasshopper #CustomArchitecture #DesignTrends #ArtInArchitecture #GreenSandCasting #ArchitecturalInnovation

Architecture, Design and Art typically represent three separate professions brought together most coherently within boutique hospitality projects. I learned that during my time AB CarVal working with the tremendous team at Ellis Partners and in partnership with Chip at JdV by Hyatt. Today Buhl Investors integrates those lessons in the Midwest across all product types. Farwell on Water is a textbook example. What often isn’t completely thought through is how a brand expresses through each element of built and social environment cohesively, telling a story that connects with historical context, setting the stage for vibe, and coming through in voice and materials. Will Gunderson has done the branding elements for each of our projects. He carries with him such a terrific perspective – one that allows for architecture to pick up elements and Buhl Investors art selections for each of our projects to relate. If you have branding needs give him a shot. #graphicdesign #branding #consumerbrand #MidwestRealEstate #GraphicDesignBranding #ArchitectureDesignArt

Congrats to the cajun rainmaker, tommy begnaud! We met over coffee in 2021 to see if we could cut a deal for a 7,000SF anchor restaurant space at Nolan Mains. By 2022 Mr Paul’s Supper Club was opened. It’s been amazing to watch the community rally around Mr Paul’s since. Together with partners Carrie Begnaud, Cortney Briden and Nick Kovasvich they continue to make waves. The crew brings chops in the kitchen, a fun-loving attitude and theatrical innovation. It’s no surprise Mr. Paul’s received the accolade of being the Twin Cities “top 50 restaurants” award by MSP Mag. There are few more deserving than this and I’m sure this will not be the last accolade for such a talented crew. Well Done! Thanks to Ali Kaplan for the continued district coverage. #NolanMains #TwinCitiesRestaurants #MSPMag

We couldn't be more thrilled for the amazingly talented artist Amber M. Jensen, who was just selected for the McKnight Foundation 2024 Fiber Art Fellowship. Amber's talent as an artist shines brightly right here in the Twin Cities, and we're so lucky to benefit from her work throughout the metro. This follows the The New York Times article highlighting the Art Shanty project, which she so prominently collaborated on.   We’re looking forward to having two of Amber’s amazing weavings at Esox House. Her work brings to life essence of what we're dreaming up – a seamless blend of nature's beauty and the warmth of personal connections. It’s a place where connections happen, and thanks to talents like Amber, we're weaving that dream into every corner.   At Buhl Investors, artists are valued community makers. Their creativity breathes life into spaces, infusing them with the energy and vibrancy that define places for personal connection. We love finding talented artists like Amber to help us do this, and very supportive of the art community.   And celebrating big wins like Amber's? It's the best part of what we do.   Big congrats to Amber! Your hard work and incredible talent are inspiring, and we're all cheering for you!

We’re thrilled about the announcement of the Minnesota Yacht Club Festival coming this summer, reigniting the vibrant spirit of music festivals in our community! Terrific to see Watershed Spa, a tenant of Buhl Investors' Switchhouse property, appear in The New York Times. In a way this is validation, however, press doesn't always mean success. The greater impact has been seeing the community consistently showing up to sustain this local business. Before Watershed joined, the project was failing with missing windows, no heat, $4M of liens and a plan set that couldn't be constructed to drive consumer engagement. We stepped in, navigated complex lien positions, secured historic tax credits with the help of New History (Meghan Elliott, Quentin C.), changed the plans to accommodate retail activation on the ground level, and took an enormous measured risk in contributing toward spa infrastructure. Today this building is 100% leased. Deals aren't particularly easy these days and creative thinking can help provide a pathway toward success, whether with financial structuring or physical space. We strive to excel at both. Health and wellness is an enduring trend that we see as integral in Buhl Investors work of pursuing the potential of place.
