🇺🇸 When I set off for Salt Lake City with the goal of attending Permissionless III by Blockworks and Bankless, I had no idea how transformative this trip would be. It was my first international experience — and although I met friends along the way, this was truly a journey where I had to be alone, in the midst of the unknown. I decided to dive into the Hackathon organized by buidlbox. I didn’t have a team at first, but after exchanging ideas with a few people, we formed one. Together, we created an RWA solution for peer-to-peer equipment rentals, using the RootstockLabs EVM blockchain, Ripple for the business logic, and Ava Protocol for essential automations. And the result? We took 2nd place in the Rootstock challenge! On top of that, I won a monitor for placing 1st in a blockchain technology quiz. I didn’t come back empty-handed (lol)!! On Wednesday, I fully immersed myself in Permissionless — what an EPIC event!! Panels covering ZKP, the merging of Crypto with AI, building the future of the internet, AVS economics, re-staking going beyond Ethereum, and so many other topics that are going to shake the industry. Another amazing thing was the chance to meet and connect with experts I’ve admired and followed on Twitter for years. I also had the chance to talk about DREX, Brazil’s CBDC project led by the Banco Central do Brasil, which is gaining attention. The reception here was incredible, and many were impressed (some even a bit envious, haha) with Brazil’s crypto ecosystem. Besides that, I participated in side events that strengthened my network even more. These ranged from group runs with Bankless Ventures to unique experiences like AlphaGrowth’s Gun Range, and of course, happy hours with Bankless and Blockworks. To wrap up the adventure, I got the chance to watch Karate Combat live. I’m coming back optimistic about the future of blockchain and grateful to everyone who supported me on social media during this journey.
