Our #QGIS AI Georeferencer is now available! You can now georeference north oriented aerial imagery and maps automatically in QGIS—here's how 👇 First, go to the Manage and Install Plugins window in QGIS and either update your Bunting Labs AI Vectorizer plugin to the latest version or install it if you haven't already Then, go to Layer -> Georeferencer and you will find two new buttons 🛰️ Aerial imagery georeferencing—our most powerful georeferencer. To use this: 1. load your satellite or aerial image in the georeferencer, 2. zoom your QGIS window to be roughly the same area as the image, 3. select the satellite icon "Generate GCP points from satellite" to generate control points 🌐⚡️ Full georeferencing—our experimental georeferencer. This mode uses our AI model built to read the map, identify features that a human would georeference to like roads, building outlines, and coordinates, and place ground control points. This allows our AI to georeference maps that do not have an aerial imagery base. To use this: 1. load your map in the georefernecer, 2. zoom your QGIS window to be roughly the same area as the map, 3. select the globe and lightning bolt icon "Generate GCP points with AI" to generate control points Make sure that whatever you try to georeference is north oriented. But, we are training it to handle rotated maps so that will be coming soon!

Our AI legal description plotter has three new tools for verifying accuracy! Now, you can both map legal descriptions and verify them in a fraction of the time. Brendan Ashworth has completely redone our dashboard to make it easier to confirm that the AI worked as you expected before you download as DXF. You can see the created geometry, distance to close, the geometry on a web map, and—most importantly—all of the text the AI read and the corresponding survey calls. If you want to try this out, it's available on the Dashboard on our website under Land Descriptions.

Our #QGIS AI Land Description digitizer lets you map legal descriptions in under 20 seconds! Just upload your document and our AI takes care of the rest. Going through long legal descriptions to pull out all the azimuths and distances and manually enter them into your software of choice is time consuming and repetitive. Not to mention, just one typo makes the entire digitization incorrect. Now, with our AI, all you have to do is left click the point of beginning and open whatever document your legal description is on. To use this new feature: 1. Install the Bunting Labs AI Vectorizer in QGIS 2. Create a new linestring or polygon layer, enable editing, and enable Add Linestring/Polygon Feature 3. Left click on the point of beginning 4. Hover over the plugins tab on the top of the screen -> hover over Bunting Labs -> left click Digitize Land Description 5. Open the document you want to map 6. Once it returns a feature, right click to save it

After three days in Bratislava for the #QGIS User Conference, it's amazing to see how welcoming the QGIS community is. By far the best part of the conference was meeting so many great people from so many different industries all unified by QGIS. Everyone was excited to share their work and knowledge about QGIS—often working on things I didn't know QGIS was even capable of. Another great surprise was seeing Bunting Labs featured as the example of AI being built for QGIS—thank you to Tim Sutton for featuring us in the closing ceremony! It's clear from this conference that QGIS' importance will only grow as people invent new ways to utilize it and as it goes from being solely desktop software to being hybrid desktop and cloud software.

Just heard Brendan Ashworth speak at the QGIS User Conference about his experience building AI in QGIS! Here are the biggest takeaways: 1. The number of AI models being built for GIS will only grow 2. Hardware and software can't keep up with the pace of innovation 3. In open-source software sometimes you have to be the change you want to see The talk was recorded so we'll be posting that soon! #QGISUC2024

We've created a less expensive Personal tier at $19/month for people who only do occasional digitizing! This tier is equivalent to about 30 minutes of manual digitizing per day. If you digitize maps frequently or have heightened security requriements, our Professional and Organization tiers are likely a better fit. If you have any questions about which plan is best for you, send us an email or schedule a call on our website.
