CAGI Co-sponsored the CABP Expo   CAGI co-sponsored the CABP Expo in Atlanta and had the opportunity to reach compressed air professionals and users to educate them on the educational resources offered by CAGI. CAGI President Frank Mueller presented during the CABP opening session and CAGI hosted an education seminar on case studies on maximizing compressed air efficiency.

How can end users be sure the individuals who design and audit compressed air systems, who recommend and install equipment, who provide advice on system performance and optimization, are qualified and know what they are doing? To answer this question, CAGI has developed personnel certification programs for professionals in the compressed air systems industry. These programs raise credibility and confidence in the industry and help qualified individuals differentiate themselves as certified compressed air system professionals. In response to this challenge, the Compressed Air & Gas Institute (CAGI), ISO - International Organization for Standardization, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) have independently developed three performance standards for low-pressure blowers. Proper air storage is a critical component of intermittent duty cycle, occurring in many commercial applications from automotive repair, small manufacturing, or air bursting. Since the stored air capacity is needed only occasionally, there is plenty of time for a reciprocating compressor to restore the air receiver for its next air burst use. To answer the need for valid and reliable standards for testing the performance of vacuum pumps, the Blower & Vacuum Section of Compressed Air & Gas Institute (CAGI) has developed CAGI Vacpump-100: Simplified Acceptance Test for Bare Vane Vacuum Pumps for Mobile Vacuum Systems.    This standard prescribes in detail the testing and performance rating of positive displacement bare vane vacuum pumps at various levels of vacuum.
