What a great trip! The International Law and Immigration Section of the California Lawyers Association hosted a wonderful delegation trip to Mexico last week. Check it out 👇
CLA President Betty (Sibilsky) Williams embarked on a significant delegation trip to Mexico, and the trip was filled with notable events and memorable moments. 🇲🇽 📸 1. The day began with an engaging breakfast meeting with our delegation, the President of the ANADE Bar Association (Asociación Nacional de Abogados de Empresa, Colegio de Abogados - ANADE), Nuhad Ponce Kuri, and various officials from the State Department and Department of Justice. 📸 2. Betty attended a meeting at Creel Law Firm (Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez, S.C.), where CLA ILS Chair, Margaret Francisco, presented a gift to the firm’s Managing Partner. 📸 3. The day concluded with the signing of a Friendship Agreement with Victor Olea Pelaez, President of Barra Mexicana, Colegio de Abogados A.C.(Mexican Bar Association). 📸 4. Additional highlights include a snapshot of Enrique Hernandez-Pulido, incoming ILS Chair, speaking, and Jeffery Daar, former ILS Chair, engaged in conversation. Also featured is the flag of Mexico. 🌟 Day 2 Highlights: 📸 5. Betty and the delegation visited the Mexican Senate, where they presented a gift to Senator Rafa Espino de la Peña from Chihuahua state. Margaret and Betty were pictured with the Senator. 📸 6. The tour included a visit to the Mexican Supreme Court. Justice Alberto Pérez Dayán generously spent over 30 minutes with the delegation, demonstrating a spirit of cooperation and dialogue. 📸 7. The day also included a photo of Margaret with Brooke (a CLA member) and her wife, as well as a beautiful cityscape. A truly impactful trip, fostering connections and gaining valuable insights into Mexico’s legal landscape.
