CALED is CA's premier economic development association & the voice of practitioners. We are CA's EconDev Network.
About us
The California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED) is California’s premier economic development association. With more than 800 members, it is one of the largest economic development associations in the country, which is why we refer to our membership as California’s Economic Development Network. Since 1980, when it was created, CALED has led the way in teaching economic developers, local elected officials, and state representatives the value of economic development and how it is used to grow businesses, generate revenue to support community development programs, and retain and create quality jobs.

CALED’s Board and Advisors recently met to discuss the changes in #EconDev delivery methods, the current and future needs of professional economic developers, and trends in the economic development environment. In an engaging discussion led by Chair Jennifer McLain Hiramoto, we strategized on how to position CALED to continue to build up and break through in our efforts to support our members with issues ranging from AI and technology in economic development, to the changing demographics and needs of the current workforce and employers, to climate change impacts on economic development, and much more. Thanks to Chair McLain Hiramoto for hosting us at the Toyota Arena in City of Ontario. We appreciate the amazing customer service and experience created by Michael K. Krouse, CMP, CHME, CASE and his team at GOCAL - Greater Ontario California. What a great way to further our focus on continued improvement as we strive to serve CALED members. {Gurbax Sahota; Amalia Cunningham, AICP; Larry Kosmont; Jim Simon; Dwayne Dalman; Michael Nuby; Larry Vaupel, Ph.D.; David White; Barbara Levine; Rochelle Mills; Tim Kelley; Michelle Geller; Aaron Laurel; Eric Romero; PJ Gagajena}
