Working to ensure affordable housing opportunities for low income and rural households since 1976.
About us
Formed in 1976 following a farmworker housing conference, CCRH is one of the oldest state low-income housing coalitions in the country. Through advocacy, organizing, research, and technical assistance, our goal is to make the case for rural housing improvement and strengthen the capacity of the nonprofit and public sectors to provide affordable housing and related facilities. Members are primarily community-based nonprofit and public developers, including the largest self-help housing producers in the United States, as well as local government officials, and local activists concerned about rural quality of life.

Excited to be at the NPH Affordable Housing Conference this morning! 🎉 Being surrounded by such incredible talent reminds me just how important it is to build and strengthen the pipeline for young leaders in affordable housing. In the picture below, we have three (out of 11!) amazing current interns and one accomplished alum from the CCRH Internship Program. We wish the rest of the cohort was here for a photo op! Also - big shout-out to our unofficial sister program at NPH— the BAHIP staff and their interns. Thank you for the invitation! Izanie LoveNed and Monica Joe Keep an eye out for our college students and young professionals as they shape the future of housing. 🏡✨ #AffordableHousing #NPH2024 #LeadershipDevelopment #NPHConference #CCRHInternshipProgram

In 2022, the California governor & state leaders set a goal to build 1M new affordable homes by 2030. But only 1% of our state budget is being allocated to housing. Even worse, $1B was cut from our housing & homelessness budget this year: this is not okay. We need #OneMillionHomes now!

Did you see? CCRH's very own Rob Wiener, Director Emeritus: Senior Advisor, was recognized by SCANPH and part of the 2024 Hall of Fame inductees! The SCANPH Hall of Fame serves to honor retiring (or retired) individuals who are trailblazers in their chosen field and exemplify a celebrated career. Their career "has been passionately dedicated to SCANPH's mission; facilitating development of safe, stable and affordable homes for all people in Southern California." Congrats Rob! 📸: SCANPH

👀 ICYMI: CCRH staff—Galen Dobbins, Policy Associate and Iliana Chevez, Director of Tribal Programs—gave testimony during a recent California Strategic Growth Council meeting. Galen and Iliana spoke about the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) program, recent changes to vanpooling within AHSC, and the ability of rural and Tribal communities to access AHSC. Both expressed gratitude for our continued partnership with SGC, as they continue to make the AHSC program better and more equitable. Galen discussed Vanpools, and the need for them in both rural and Tribal communities. Iliana discussed the realities of Tribal communities, and the need for AHSC guidelines to reflect those realities. You can listen to both Galen and Iliana provide their testimony in the video here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gzXAWv2s
