🌟 Preparing the Next Generation of Designers at #NYCHA! 🌟 This summer, 14 middle school students from Stanley Avenue Preservation in East New York participated in the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) #STEAM Innovators program, where they learned architecture and design skills to reimagine a community room at the Penn-Wortman community center. Guided by Salvadori educators and professional designers, the students developed their ideas through hands-on learning, creating detailed floor plans, inspiration boards, and scale models—all shaped by community feedback. 🏙️🛠️ Thanks to the support of the Public Housing Community Fund, L+M Development Partners LLC, and C+C Apartment Management, LLC, these designs will come to life this fall, showcasing the power of youth-driven community improvement. A big thank you to our partners, including CAMBA and the Salvadori Center, for making this impactful program possible! #NYCHA CEO Lisa Bova-Hiatt experienced the Salvadori program first-hand during a recent visit to the Drew Hamilton Community Center, where students were learning to build skyscrapers as part of the spring after-school program, supported by City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams. This collaboration reflects NYCHA's long-standing partnership with Salvadori, enriching lives and creating pathways to brighter futures for young residents. Congratulations to our young innovators for their creativity and dedication! 🎉👏 Read the full story from BK Reader: https://on.nyc.gov/3MotZPW #NYCHAYouth #STEAM #CommunityDrivenDesign #NYCHAInnovators #publichousing
