This is an excellent resource for all clinicians, not just EMS. Cambridge Consulting Group recommends taking a few minutes to review it.

Cyanosis does not always present as purplish or bluish on the skin, as most medical textbooks portray! Certain systemic factors can contribute to healthcare disparities that dark-skinned individuals experience. Diagnostic challenges have been a significant concern in medical education, as most materials concentrate on symptoms that present on white skin. This results in clinicians being less equipped to correctly diagnose and manage conditions like cyanosis in darker-skinned individuals. Consequently, this leads to low healthcare quality and poor outcomes for patients. Let’s work together to change this narrative. Contact Us!

Often times people are quick to place blame on the EMS responders when it comes to ambulance collisions. A thorough investigation must be done regardless of the extent to assist in the curtailment of EMS related crashes. Sometimes, even with lights and sirens, accidents can happen. Cambridge Consulting Group recognizes this need and is available at any time for a consult. May the paramedic who died sleep easy!
Corporate Partner News: Coaching Systems LLC In October of 2018, in Ohio, while responding to an emergency with lights and siren, a paramedic riding in the front passenger seat was killed when a Dodge RAM pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction lost control, swerved over the centerline of the roadway and into the path of the ambulance. She was not wearing a seat belt. The driver of the ambulance, who was wearing a seat belt, said he saw the oncoming RAM cross over the centerline, but he didn’t have time to react. The driver was hurt, but with non-life-threatening injuries. NHTSA crash scene investigators determined that the RAM most likely lost control as a result of insufficient tire tread depth for the wet road conditions. Was there anything the ambulance operator could have done to avoid this crash?

Cambridge Consulting Group is excited for this upcoming webinar about women in EMS. If you can, take the time to check it out.
Join the Prehospital Care Research Forum Clinical Journal Club next Monday, the 12th, to explore the latest research on the female EMS journey. Workforce shortages continue to pervade EMS. Despite the pandemic recovery and increased efforts at bringing more people into the field and keeping them there, fewer people are choosing to climb into the back of an ambulance. Little work, however, has been put into describing the experience of being an EMT or paramedic, specifically those who are underrepresented in the EMS workforce.
