CAPE Employee Spotlight | Crystal Alexander. Born in Corpus Christi, TX, and residing in Fort Worth since 2011, Crystal holds a B.S. in Engineering Geology from The University of Texas at Arlington. She has been a Project Engineer at CAPE since September 2022 and is passionate about her work. A career highlight for Crystal was receiving exceptional ratings for a challenging project at Bremerton Naval Complex in Washington along the Puget Sound. The project involved complex tasks but was ultimately fun and rewarding. Inspired by her early experiences in engineering consulting, where she was encouraged to pursue a degree in the environmental/engineering field, Crystal has developed a strong foundation in technical skills. She advises newcomers to always be willing to learn and not be afraid to ask questions. Outside of work, Crystal enjoys traveling, brunches with friends, and is a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. She has been married to her husband since 2018 and has a daughter who is currently a student at Arizona State University. Crystal is also deeply involved in dog rescues, having helped save and rehome hundreds of dogs through local adoption and fostering events. CAPE Employee Spotlight | Elisa Morgan. Born and raised in El Paso, TX, Elisa has called Denver, CO home for the past nine years. She earned her B.S. in Geology from Purdue University and her M.S. in Geosciences from UNC Wilmington. Alongside her husband and their 4-year-old son, Elisa enjoys hiking, biking, playing board games, and exploring new breweries. She joined CAPE in June 2024 as a GIS Analyst and Environmental Data Scientist, working on a variety of projects, creating figures, and supporting environmental data analysis. One of Elisa’s most memorable projects was her graduate thesis on magma dynamics at Axial Seamount where she spent weeks on a research vessel collecting data to model the magma chamber's characteristics. Inspired by her love for the outdoors, Elisa discovered her passion for geology during her junior year of college and has been dedicated to the field ever since. Her career advice to those just starting is to find something that interests you and don't be afraid to ask for help.
