Last Friday, August 23rd, our VP of Human Resources, Jay Burkey, SHRM-CP, was invited to speak at the 2024 CAPI – ADA Awareness Training for the city of St. Petersburg. This training was created to foster a workplace culture that values diversity and inclusivity and aimed to educate participants about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and how to effectively work with individuals who may have a disability in various settings, including workplaces, public spaces. Through increased awareness and better implementation of ADA guidelines, employers and participants are more likely to build a more inclusive and accessible workplace, including making reasonable accommodations, ensuring accessibility, and avoiding discriminatory practices.
