The California Mortgage Bankers Association, or California MBA, represents the residential and commercial real estate finance industry before all governing bodies; and the new Chairman as of August 17, 2024, is our very own Wes Iseley, EVP and Senior Managing Director of Carrington Mortgage Holdings. The California MBA encourages and promotes sound business practices and honesty in marketing, origination, lending and servicing of mortgage loans through our educational and networking opportunities. "The California MBA provides dedicated advocacy for the mortgage industry," says Wes. "As the largest state, we work very closely with the national Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) to oppose legislation that would harm consumers and the industry." Wes says that growing California MBA membership is a focus for his term, as is organizing engaging conferences for the membership and fundraising for the organization's political action committee. This latest role with the California MBA is another in a distinguished career of service by Wes to the mortgage industry. Prior to his most recent election, he served as President of the California MBA Residential Section; and Wes has been on the California MBA Board since 2014. Other influential industry positions include serving as Chairman of the National Mortgage Servicing Association during the global pandemic, and as a member of the MBA Executive Servicing Council. In 2022, Wes was honored by the Five Star Institute with its 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award. "Carrington has a great reputation in the mortgage industry, both nationally and in the state of California," says Wes. "I'm proud to represent what we stand for: a strong company that helps mortgage lending and servicing, as well as real estate and title. This new role at the California MBA is just another way we are representing The Carrington Companies to the public."
