Carter BloodCare sponsored the 24th Annual Binational Health Fair hosted at Mountain View College by the Consulado De Mexico in Dallas this weekend! Thousands of people congregated for free kidney screenings, hearing/vision tests, vaccines, lab testing, and health education offered by Carter BloodCare, Parkland Health, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas County Health and Human Services, Baylor Scott & White Health, Wellpoint, and National Kidney Foundation [among many other entities]!

Kaufman County Comunidad Unida [KCCU] hosted a gala last night with elected officials, school administrators, business owners, and community members to celebrate immigrant journeys and community triumphs! Did you know that Kaufman County is one of the fastest growing counties in the entire nation? I had the opportunity to thank KCCU for collectively saving over 240 lives this year by hosting multiple Carter BloodCare blood drives! A year ago, I embarked on a journey with their cofounder Diana Roman to teach #CivicResposibility tenets during her monthly US Citizenship and GED classes in Kaufman County...it was incredibly rewarding last night to witness their 2024 new American Citizens [cohort] being honored with this special ceremony!
